چکیده

Photovoltaic (PV) systems form an important force in the implementation of renewable energies, but as we all know, the force has always its dark side. Besides efficiency considerations and discussions about architectures of power distribution networks, environmental impacts caused by optical reflections are a serious concern. PV systems generate optical reflections resulting in glare. On the one hand, glare is a serious security concern, e.g. for traffic. On the other hand, glare is a constant source of discomfort in vicinities of PV systems. Location-oriented assessments are required to limit potential reflections and to avoid risks for public infrastructure and discomfort of residents. Hence, calculation of glare is decisive for the success of renewable energies with respect to solar energy. Several courts ruled on necessary adjustments of PV systems and even their de-installation because of glare effects. Our approach is to provide project planners with a 3D-based simulation software to calculate and visualise reflections towards the environment of PV systems. Hence, project planners receive flexible assistance for adjusting the parameters of solar panels before installation of a PV system.

Effects of planar and non-planar driver-side mirrors on age-related discomfort-glare responses.

In this study, we evaluated subjective nighttime discomfort-glare responses on three different types of planar and non-planar driver-side mirrors on two age groups. Fifty-six individuals (28 young [18-35 years] and 28 old [65 years and over]) participated in this experiment. Subjective discomfort-glare rating scores on three different types of driver-side mirrors were assessed utilizing De Boer...

Dynamic Envelope and Control Shading Pattern to Visual Comfort of Office Building in Tehran

This work reviews the effect of parametric programming on visual performance, daylighting and shading in office buildings in Tehran-Iran and studies their influences that help not only to reduce the glare but also to promote useful daylight illuminance through promoting visual comfort. It starts by establishing a review of the effective parameters on visual comfort indices, glare indices, and d...

Relation Between Glare and Driving Performance

The present study investigated the effects of discomfort glare on driving behavior. Participants (old and young; U. S. and Europeans) were exposed to a simulated low-beam light source mounted on the hood of an instrumented vehicle. Participants drove at night in actual traffic along a track consisting of urban, rural, and highway stretches. The results show that the relatively low glare source ...

Evaluation of discomfort glare in the 50+ elderly: experimental study.

OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to analyze discomfort glare sensation in subjects aged 50 years and more in comparison with younger subjects (i.e. younger than 35 years of age). MATERIAL AND METHODS The experiments were performed on a computer workstation placed in controlled lighting environment where 2 discomfort glare conditions were modeled. Each participant performed for about 1 h sp...

Spatial soliton pairs in an unbiased photovoltaic-photorefractive crystal circuit

: Optical separate spatial dark and bright soliton pairs in steady-state case in one dimension, for a series circuit consisting of two-photon photorefractive (PR) crystal are investigated. Each crystal can be supported the spatial soliton, and at least one must be photovoltaic. The two solitons are known collectively as separate spatial soliton pairs with dark–dark, bright–dark and bright–brigh...
